Overview

Plan Your Passing ("Company," "we," "us," "our") operates planyourpassing.org (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

We are transparent about how your data flows through our platform. This includes sharing certain information with AI services (Anthropic's Claude API) and payment processors (Stripe) to deliver our Service. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, but we may share it with partner attorneys as part of our white-label attorney network.

Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you use Plan Your Passing, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and location. We also collect information about your family structure (names and relationships of family members), estate details (property ownership, asset values), and health-related information (health concerns that may affect planning). This information is collected through forms, account setup, and tool usage on our platform.

Financial Information

If you purchase our book or community membership, we collect payment information through Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers—Stripe handles all payment processing securely. We do retain transaction history, order information, and billing details in our records.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you interact with our Service, including which pages you visit, which tools you use, how long you spend on our platform, what content you generate, and IP address data. This helps us understand how our Service is used and improve it.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to recognize you, store preferences, and understand usage patterns. These include session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain on your device). You can control cookie settings through your browser, but some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • • Provide and improve the Service, including AI-powered estate planning tools
  • • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • • Send you transactional emails (order confirmations, password resets)
  • • Send you marketing emails (with your consent)
  • • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
  • • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • • Aggregate and analyze usage patterns to improve our offerings

Your estate planning data is used to generate personalized AI-powered content (like attorney briefing documents). This involves sending your information to Anthropic's Claude API, where our request is processed and deleted according to Anthropic's data retention policies. We do not use your data to train AI models.

Third-Party Sharing

Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers that assist us in operating our platform and delivering our Service. These include:

  • Anthropic (Claude API): We send your estate planning information to Anthropic to generate AI-powered content. This includes personal, financial, and health-adjacent information necessary to create your personalized briefings.
  • Stripe: We share payment and billing information with Stripe to process transactions securely.
  • Resend: We use Resend to send transactional and marketing emails. We share your email address with Resend.

Partner Attorneys

Plan Your Passing is building a white-label network of partner attorneys. If you choose to share your information with a partner attorney, we will securely transmit your estate planning data to their portal so they can review your briefing and provide legal guidance. This sharing occurs only with your explicit consent.

Legal Compliance

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request. We will not disclose personal information based on a business transfer unless we provide you with notice of the transfer and an opportunity to opt out.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations. Specifically:

  • • Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after you delete your account.
  • • Payment and billing information is retained for tax and accounting purposes for the period required by law.
  • • Marketing email lists are retained until you unsubscribe.
  • • Usage analytics and logs are typically retained for 12 months.

You can request deletion of your data at any time using the processes described in the "Your Rights" section below.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption in transit (SSL/TLS), secure payment processing through PCI-DSS compliant providers, and restricted access controls.

However, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and keep your account information confidential. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to rogergrubbrealestate@gmail.com.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will promptly delete it. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at rogergrubbrealestate@gmail.com.
